🕉️ The Discipline of Bharatanatyam at Kruti Dance Academy

🔔⏳Bharatanatyam has taught me discipline—the ability to push further at every point, to not give up when something feels difficult, and to respect the process as much as the performance. I consider myself lucky to have been exposed to such a divine art form at such a young age, because it has shaped me in ways no other form of education could. The journey of learning and performing Bharatanatyam has added a dimension to my life that teaches me to value every step taken. Just as many steps together create a dance, the countless small efforts of practice, repetition, and correction come together to create a dancer. It is this discipline that makes Bharatanatyam more than just an art form—it becomes a way of life.

At Kruti Dance Academy, my years of training have shaped me as both a dancer and a person. Under the guidance of Dina Aunty and Shemoni Didi, I learned that dance is not only about performance but also about motivating others, working together, and building confidence as a community. From the day I stepped into Kruti family, I dreamed of becoming a didi who could teach and guide others—just like the didi’s who once taught me. Now, as I help the younger dancers, I feel proud to pass forward even a small part of what was given to me. Each year, the Kruti annual recital has held a special place in my heart, as every performance has helped me blossom—into a performer, a presenter, an artist, and above all, a dancer. With every performance, my confidence has grown, and each recital has felt like a true celebration of the Kruti family. All of this naturally leads me to my arangetram—the culmination of this journey.
